BSc, MBBS, MRCP(UK), DPH, MRCGP.
Year of registration - 1987

I joined The Spinney in 1999. Before becoming a GP I enjoyed a number
of medical careers including five years in General Medicine and five
years in Public Health Medicine. I see myself very much as a generalist
but frequently call upon the experience from my previous roles during my
day-to-day work at the Practice.
I am a GP trainer and supervise the training of doctors who wish to
train as GPs. I have always been interested in how the NHS is run. In
February 2010 I reduced my sesssions at The Spinney to take on the
part-time role of Associate Medical Director for NHS Cambridgeshire.
This allows me to have input into the quality of NHS services locally at
a more strategic level.
I am married to Claire who works locally as a Physiotherapist and
have two energetic sons Nicholas and Bobby. Most of my time away from
the Spinney is spent with my family, but I also am interested in current
affairs, socialising and nice wine (not necessarily in that order!).
